Driving by women leads to evil

Still freshly overwhelmed by how grotesquely evil religion is, was, and shall forever be. This from an article about the outcry following a proposal to let women over age 35 drive within city limits (but not on highways) in Saudi Arabia:

"Conservatives, who believe women should be shielded from strange men, say driving will allow a woman to leave home whenever she pleases and go wherever she wishes. "

Can you imagine the horror and pandemonium if women could go where they please?

"'Driving by women leads to evil,' Munir al-Shahrani wrote in a letter to the editor of the Al-Watan daily. 'Can you imagine what it will be like if her car broke down? She would have to seek help from men.'"

Ah, the voice of reason is alive and well in the Islamic world! Glad our government is chummy with these Neanderthals.
